Jonas Lindgren - Saltholmen GPY#001 - - - The latest bustle of activities from Jonas Lindgren have resulted in a damned fine little EP. »Saltholmen« is nothing short of stunning in it's soft spoken and understated subtleness. I've had the pleasure of following Lindgrens' progression and musical growth up close over that past few years, and regardless if it's earpiercing noise, pseudo-academic EAM, droning isolationism or more recently brittle little melodies combined with pristine field recordings that leave his laptop, he's always managed to make something personal of it. And »Saltholmen« is nothing if not personal, even though it might not always be obvious to the outsider. Showcasing the sunnier side of the Lindgren world, this EP manages to be droning without being dense, emotional without being teary-eyed and ethereal without balancing on the edge of new age drivel. Quite simply lapgazing at it's best. I can't even begin to fathom why Jonas Lindgren isn't a id3 tag on everyone's iPod. // Thomas Ekelund, former A&R, Fukk God Lets Create - - - Recorded at Nyckelpigan in the early summer of 2005.
