<reviewbody>The setup was not conducive to making a board tape, so this is a pure stereo audience recording. Guitars are crunchy and thick, the bass has some very nice low thunder, and the drums sound darn good in the room. The vocals are not overly present, but are clear and audible in the mix.

The Brown Baer is a super cool bar (with excellent food) in the resort town of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. This show took place on a rainy sunday night well outside of tourist season. The club holds less than 100 people, and was not full, but the band played two sets totaling nearly two and half hours. The setlist contains a nice mix of new stuff from the recent recording session with Steve Berlin, older, more familiar songs, and some choice covers.

The band for this occasion includes brothers Matt and Ed Anderson on bass and guitar respectively, Tim Kramp on drums, and also features Scott Tipping on guitar and vocals. Scott and Ed used to host a regular open mic night, so they have a very tight musical chemistry. Also, the both play sunburst Les Paul guitars for much of the show.

Which reminds me to mention that first set of this one started with Ed on acoustic guitar for a bunch of songs in a row. Then it was all electric for the rest of the night.

Top notch to my ears.
five big'nz!!!!!
